Early Learning Program

The earliest years of a child’s education are filled with meaningful discoveries, curiosity, and “lightbulb” moments. At Mission Hills Schools, our TK and Kindergarten programs are designed to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning by balancing a child’s natural curiosity with intentional academic growth.

Set in a positive, nurturing learning environment, our experienced teachers create engaging experiences that encourage exploration, confidence, and a genuine love of learning. Through thoughtfully designed curriculum and hands-on opportunities, students develop essential academic, social, and emotional skills while building independence and curiosity.

Our goal is to inspire young learners to delight in discovery, embrace new challenges, and develop the strong foundation needed for continued success throughout their educational journey.

Transitional Kindergarten

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program is a full-day program designed for four-year-old students who are ready for a structured learning environment while continuing to develop the skills needed for Kindergarten success.

Through a hands-on, engaging curriculum, students build foundational skills in early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking while developing important social-emotional, organizational, and motor skills. Learning is enhanced through developmentally appropriate play, music, movement, and hands-on activities.

TK students also enjoy enrichment opportunities including Music, Physical Education, and Library. Our program provides children with the confidence, independence, and strong foundation needed for a smooth transition into Kindergarten.

Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten program provides students with a strong academic foundation through a balanced approach of structured learning, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Throughout the day, students engage in meaningful activities that support literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional growth.

Students are introduced to concepts in science, history, civics, engineering, and the visual and performing arts while continuing to develop confidence and independence as learners. Language enrichment, including French, is also introduced to broaden students’ perspectives and encourage curiosity about the world around them. By the second semester, many Kindergarten students are reading independently and demonstrating first-grade mathematics skills.

Enrichment opportunities including Music, Physical Education, Library, Computer Phonics, and French are incorporated into the Kindergarten experience. Our goal is to ensure students leave Kindergarten with a strong foundation and the skills needed for continued academic success.
